The premiere of “Minions 2: The Origin of Gru” drew 796,000 admissions to Brazilian cinemas and earned R $ 16.6 million for Universal, according to Comscore figures.
The amount represents more than half of the total weekend collection, which reached R $ 27.15 million. What’s more, all the other Top 10 films combined only attracted 464,000 viewers.
The most viewed list also highlighted “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Jurassic World: Dominion”, whose revenues were R $ 4.75 million and R $ 3.12 million respectively.
In addition to “Minions 2”, the only other debut to appear in the Top 10 was the Brazilian crime thriller “As Verdades”, starring Lázaro Ramos, which opened in 10th place, with R $ 14,1000 raised.
