Jeremy Renner announces his revival for Season 3 as Mayor of Kingstown

Taylor Sheridan continues her reign on Paramount+ with The Mayor of Kingstown, which returns for Season 3 this June 3rd. The creator of Yellowstone moves from ranches to prison industrial complexes in this drama, which he developed with actor Hugh Dillon. The Mayor of Kingstown follows the McCluskey family, led by Jeremy Renner as eldest son Mike, who mediates between the cops and the criminals who make up the town and businesses.

Mike’s battle with Russian mobster Milo (Game of Thrones star Aiden Gillen) in Season 2 ended with explosive rocks, leaving his mother Mary (Diane Wiest) fighting for her life. With the legendary actor not reprising his role for Season 3, it’s clear that Mike and his brother Kyle McCluskey (Taylor Handley) will be very upset when the series returns. On the other hand, the atmosphere surrounding the series is much more upbeat considering that Renner miraculously recovered from his own experience that could have caused his death a year ago.

Screen ratio asked Jeremy Renner about the McClusky family situation in Season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown, Mike’s difficult relationship with Deveryn “Bunny” Washington (Toby Bamtefa), and his own struggle to return to work after a serious accident.

The third season is as intense as ever

The third season of The Mayor of Kingstown promises to maintain the level of intensity and narrative complexity that made previous seasons so successful. With a storyline that explores the new threats in Kingstown, this season should satisfy the expectations of fans of crime and political drama. And he didn’t win in the first place, Jeremy Renner wasn’t sure about coming back.

A year after the accident we started going back to work and I probably wasn’t physically ready, but mentally I was ready and ready. We had a lot of great people who helped us through the difficult times of getting this project back on its feet. Me, Hugh Dillon, and our showrunner, Dave Erickson, work really hard. We have worked hard and are very happy and proud not only of the season but also of the physical recovery during this tough season.

In Season 3, a series of explosions rock Kingstown and its residents as a new face of the Russian mafia moves into town and deals drugs outside the prison walls. Mike McClusky must end the war, but things get complicated when a familiar face from his prison past threatens the mayor’s efforts to keep the peace between all the factions.

Season 3 of The Mayor of Kingstown is currently available on Paramount+.
