Leilane Neubarth directs “Falas de Orgulho,” which will be screened June 21
Journalist Leilane Neubarth will host the special “Falas de Orgulho”, which will air on June 21st, on the occasion of LGBTQI+ Pride Month
“As a bisexual journalist, it is very important to be able to lend my credibility, resulting from over 40 years of reporting on Brazilians, to bring the reality of our community to the country,” Leilane told O GLOBO.
The journalist also spoke about how coming out publicly affected her career and the public: “When I came out about my sexuality more than 14 years ago, I wanted to be honest with myself, my family and my closest friends. This happened naturally… because I am a public person, accepting my sexuality was very important for the community and for the people who follow me.”

“It is a political act for a person who works with facts and with credibility to assume his own truth. It is not a question of courage. I would not know how to live in a lie”, concludes the journalist who presents “Conexão GloboNews”.
“Falas de Orgulho” will focus on the lack of opportunities in the job market and the fight for rights and is artistically directed by Antonia Prado and screenplay by Veronica Debom.
