Criminal will be adapted for the small screen
Prime Video is getting ready an adaptation of the comics Criminal. With seven albums, these were created by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. They are divided into different series, which focus on different characters but which evolve in the same fictional world. Through these characters, each story explores the world of crime.
The series that Prime Video is preparing will be centered on the character of Leone. The latter is an exceptional thief, capable of thinking like a chess player to devise plans for his robberies. It also follows the rule of do not resort to violence during his flights. Because of this, some other criminals see him as a coward, especially after his father Tommy was sent to prison for killing the most feared man in town, Teeg Lawless.

Charlie Hunnam gets the lead role
Criminal has just found its main interpreter. As reported Expiration, Charlie Hunnam has signed on to play Leo. It thus fits into a rapidly growing distribution. Because in the last few days three more actors have landed roles on the show.
Richard Jenkins will play IvanLeo’s father’s best friend, who now suffers from dementia and whom Leo tries to take care of. Adria Arjona will play Greta, a high-profile car thief and driver looking for one last big score to change her life. Finally, Kadeem Hardison was cast as Gnarly. The latter is an old friend of Leo and Ivan and inspires the respect of everyone around him.
Ed Brubaker involved
Co-creator of the comic, Ed Brubaker will be involved in the series Criminal. He will be the co-showrunner with Jordan Harper, who wrote the screenplays for several episodes of Mentalist during his career. Enough to give hope to fans of the original work. Accustomed to collaborating together, the duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck will direct the first four episodes of the series.
We are now waiting for Prime Video to share the release date of Criminal. We can hope to discover the series next year, but we will have to wait for an official announcement to be sure.
