Based on the French novel “La planète des singes”, written by Pierre Boulle and published in 1963, “Planet of the Apes” was a great success with the public and critics.
The plot follows astronaut George Taylor (Charlton Heston), who lands on a strange planet after an accident. However, he soon discovers that the place is ruled by a society of intelligent apes and the humans are enslaved.

The plot takes place in an overpopulated and polluted dystopian future, with scarce natural resources and widespread social poverty. The plot follows a detective (Heston) who investigates the murder of an executive at the Soylent Corporation, a company that supplies mass processed foods to the population.
However, the detective discovers a shocking secret about the origin of the company’s food products.

A cinematic classic directed by famed director Andrei Tarkovsky, “Solaris” is a Soviet film based on the novel of the same name by Polish author Stanisław Lem, published in 1961.
In the plot, a psychologist is sent to a space station orbiting the planet Solaris, covered by a vast ocean. The psychologist’s goal is to discover the reason for the existential crises that affected the crew and paralyzed the mission.

Paul Verhoeven (“Robocop”) directs this satirical, controversial and cult science fiction. The film is based on Robert A. Heinlein’s 1959 novel of the same name.
The plot takes place in the distant future, where humanity is involved in an interplanetary war against an alien species that resembles giant insects.
