The suspect used social networks to transmit data on traffic stops and police inspections
This Thursday afternoon (6), a 61-year-old man was arrested by the Road Command of the Military Brigade (CRBM) for spreading information about police raids and inspection operations in Santa Maria through social media. The arrest occurred at ERS-509, Old Range of Camobi.
The investigation was conducted by the Military Brigade’s Intelligence Unit, which found that the suspect used a WhatsApp group to share details of the inspections, including photos, texts and locations of the operations. This practice is considered a crime under Article 265 of the Criminal Code.
The man was located at his workplace, a company located on the side of the highway. When approached by the police, he admitted having made the revelations. He was arrested and taken to the Emergency Police Station (DPPA). After giving a statement and in the presence of his lawyer, he was released and will have to answer for the crime at liberty.
