Maya finds herself face to face with her past

After running into Quentin, Maya dreads seeing him again at the institute. Leonard tries to calm him down. Vicky joins them to provide information she was able to obtain through Thibault: Quentin is currently staying with the Leroys because Mark knew him when he was in Japan.

Maya then tells how she met him: Two years before, while she was still at home, Quentin came to teach a cooking discovery course and taught them the basics of Japanese cooking. Except he overestimated them. First of all, Quentin began to fixate on Maya by constantly being on her back. The young girl eventually stole money from the house’s safe to put in Quentin’s belongings. The latter accused of theft was summoned by the director of the house. But it evaporated before the meeting. They haven’t heard from him since.

Meanwhile, at Leroys, Mark introduces Quentin, his former clerk when he was in Japan, to Jim. The latter expresses his desire to cooperate with him to move forward. Indeed, he is afraid of the upcoming exams and is afraid of not getting a diploma. His father encourages him, on the contrary, he believes that he has every chance to become valedictorian.

Later, Mark gives Quentin a tour of the institute. They stop by Hortense’s class to introduce themselves. When Hortense introduces the subject of the lesson, Quentin asks to taste the students’ preparation. After tasting Vicky, he specifically asks to taste Maya. Seeing Quentin’s gaze, Leonard immediately knows he recognizes them.

After class, Leonard and Vicky try to convince Maya. But she fears that Quentin is back for revenge. Needing to get to the bottom of it, he decides to go and question Leroy. On the way, he meets Malik, who asks to speak with him. But Maya tells the plot that she doesn’t have time. While Leonard explains the situation to Malik, Maya approaches Leroy, but is interrupted by Quentin. The latter tells the chef that they already know each other because he hosted a cooking discovery class at his house. As Leroy leaves, Quentin asks Maya to avoid accusing him of stealing this time.

At the end of the day, students gather at the amphitheater. Hortense and Marc announce the progress of the year-end exams: they consist of two tests in pairs. At the end of these tests, the top three couples compete to be chosen as valedictorian. As every year, if a student fails to score average, he/she will be expelled from the institute. This emphasizes Jim.

Then Hortense and Mark draw lots. Kelly ends up with Jasmine, Leonard Malik, and Maya with Jim. The latter puts pressure on the partner to pass the exams at any cost – otherwise, he risks being fired. The teachers then specify that the exams will only focus on cooking, not baking. From Wednesday, the students will have to compete with Quentin in Japanese haute cuisine recipes. Maya fears the worst…

At Double A, Leticia comes to check on Stanislas and his wife. Butler says everything is fine and asks to meet him. This is no problem for Laetitia. So they go to the hospital together. Maya thanks Leticia for coming to read with her. Stanislas notices that they get along perfectly.
