Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, from Ms. Marvel (2022), will be responsible for the novelty, which will show Daisy Ridley’s character creating a new Jedi Order
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoywinner of two Oscar statuettes, revealed, in an interview with Varietywhich motivated her to direct the next film in the franchise Star Warswhich will be focused on Reyonce again experienced by Daisy Ridley.
“The story that interests me most is Rey’s journey as a female Jedi. That’s how I can best bring my experiences into the film”said the filmmaker, who is also known for Ms. Marvela series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in 2022.
She also said that the fans’ connection with Star Wars was also an important factor in her decision, but she is being careful not to let it get in the way of her work: “Everyone is passionate about this. And across the fan community, people have clear ideas about who should direct or what the stories should be about. I’m ignoring those voices until I’m done. As a storyteller, I’m focused on attracting new viewers to the cinema and bring a sense of nostalgia that attracts the series’ oldest fans”he concluded.
Still without an official title or release date, the new film by Star Wars must show Rey creating a new Jedi Order. In addition to Daisy Ridley,no new names have been added to the production’s cast so far.
