Street Fighter: Sony announces live-action film for 2026

Sony and Legendary announced on Wednesday (26) a live-action film of Street Fighter, one of the most famous fighting video game franchises in the world (despite the poor commercial success). According to information from Deadline, the adaptation will officially hit theaters on March 20, 2026.

With few details, the Street Fighter adaptation still has no cast – and now remains directorless as well.

It’s worth mentioning that the game franchise has had other live-action attempts before. That’s it Street Fighter: The Last Battle (1994) e Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009). Both productions were unsuccessful on the big screen.

Started in 1987, the Street Fighter franchise has sold nearly 50 million units worldwide, across various platforms. The new game, Street Fighter 6, was released earlier this month and has everything to be one of the most memorable games in the Capcom franchise.
