The German brand has become the first car manufacturer in the world to obtain authorization to sell together cars equipped with level 2 (BMW Highway Assistant) and level 3 (BMW Personal Pilot L3) assistance.
This means, in practical terms, that cars equipped with both systems will have the ability to “drive themselves”, even when the driver is not paying attention to the road, a point that limits their use in Level 2.
The first BMW car to offer these combined features will be the new 7 Series. Initially, however, the package will only be available to German consumers. The price for relying on new technologies is around R$35,000.

How does the BMW system work?
According to what was released by the German brand, and tested by several YouTubers outside Brazil, BMW cars equipped with the Personal Pilot L3 (for now only the 7 Series, remember), allow the driver to carry out the most diverse tasks without paying attention. to the road.
To do this, however, it must respect one rule: keep the car at a maximum speed of 60 km/h. If the limit is exceeded, the system will issue a warning and the driver will have to take control of the steering wheel.
