Coxa was behind, but left everything the same in injury time.
Playing in Couto Pereira, Coritiba hosted Vila Nova, this Saturday (29), in Couto Pereira, trying to get closer to G4. Meanwhile, the opponent tries to take the lead in Serie B. In the end, the score ends in a draw and neither of them likes it: Henrique Almeida scores for Vila Nova and Robson leaves everything the same.
Needing the result, Coritiba gave their all from the first minutes and started creating good chances to open the scoring. Until the 17th minute Morelli took advantage of Matheus Frizzo’s corner kick and scored. However, after the VAR review, the referee saw a touch from Gómez, who was in an irregular condition, and disallowed the goal.
Vila Nova came into the game and had a chance with Juan Christian, who headed the ball wide. Even in the first half the teams had opportunities, but none of these created real danger to the point of changing the score to goalless.
Upon returning in the second half, two changes in Coritiba: Jamerson and Figueiredo in place of Rodrigo Gelado and Brandão. But already after a minute Henrique Almeida receives the ball in the area, dominates, turns and sends it towards goal: Vila Nova 1-0.
Coxa tries to respond with Figueiredo, who receives the ball and kicks hard, but fails to equalize. Needing a goal, Coritiba sent on Wesley Pomba, who replaced Morelli. Despite the presence of another attacker, Coxa did not pose a threat to Vila Nova.
When everything seemed to be going in the direction of a victory for Vila Nova, the referee awarded a penalty to Coritiba after touching Ronald’s arm. In the shot, Robson strikes with class and secures the draw: 1-1 and final score.
In the next round of Serie B, Coritiba will play again at home and host Paysandu, Sunday (07), at 11am (Brasilia time). Vila Nova will play on Monday (08), at 21:00 (Brasilia time), and will visit the Amazon.
