Daemon’s dark vision in ‘House of the Dragon 2’: What does it mean and how will it affect you?

In the second season of ‘House of the Dragon’ we saw Daemon move away from Rhaenyra in a remarkable way and he had an important vision that has a dark tone. We explain it to you.

Daemon and his creepy vision in Harrenhal: What it means for ‘House of the Dragon 2’

Daemon and Rhaenyra have a complicated relationship and it went dangerously sour when, in his attempt to kill Aemond Targaryen, he ended up eliminating Jaehaerys Targaryen due to the Blood and Cheese mistake, causing Rhaenyra to lose her trust in him.

With that, in a fit of anger, he leaves her without mentioning where he was going. In this third chapter, the audience could see that he flew to Harrenhal to take control of the place by force, but to his surprise, the people there immediately pledged allegiance to him without having to fight.

Staying there one night, Daemon has a chilling vision where he sees a young Rhaenyra sitting in an armchair and humming. After he gets closer, he realizes he’s cooking the head of Prince Jaehaerys, which was severed at the hands of Blood and Chesee, and when he looks at him he says, “I’m always coming and going, right? And I have to clean up after.” “.

This quote has caused many to wonder what exactly it means. One of the strongest theories on social media is that the vision represents Daemon’s failures and how he somehow feels guilty about the child’s death and how it negatively affected his wife since he always solves all your problems. As to why he is seeing a young Rhaenyra, it is stated that it is because of the distance that Daemon currently feels towards her.

The episode’s director Geeta Vasant Patel explained the scene a bit more and how it affected Daemon.

“At least in my eyes, she was. ‘This is the Rhaenyra I know’. the meaning that comes from all episodes before looking at him and cutting him off, ‘Hey, you killed a kid. Don’t do that.’ People told him that all the time. But when young Rhaenyra tells him, it’s the first time he’s felt it. This is the first time we see him regret it. We see him feel. In fact, we keep talking, between takes, about how this is something we’ve never seen before in Daemon.”

Daemon’s vision was caused by the curse of Harrenhal

While guilt was part of the reason he had the vision, it turns out that it also had something to do with where he was, namely Harrenhal. From ‘Game of Thrones’ it was explained that the fortress is cursed, since all the Houses that have occupied it since its construction have disappeared or suffered great calamities. Now that Daemon is in charge of the castle, he too will suffer the consequences.

It’s believed that Daemon could continue to experience these visions while living in Harrenhal, and while it’s unknown if we’ll see actress Milly Alcock reprise her role as teenage Rhaenyra, that should please fans.
