‘I almost had a stroke’: The Boys’ Chace Crawford recalls this thought-provoking scene from Season 4

Season 4 of The Boys, which airs June 13 on Prime Video, is coming to an end soon. Created by Eric Kripke, these new episodes of Garth Enn and Darric Robertson’s comic book adaptation of the same name are marked by new thought-provoking twists and memorable sequences.

And one of the characters is allowed to have a new “love affair”, which caused a lot of talk, but also worried its artist, because certain sequences were not easy to shoot or represent during the final rendering.

In Season 4 of The Boys, The Deep, played by Chace Crawford, has an affair with… an octopus! A member of the Seven encountered this creature, named Ambrosus, during an orgy between the Supers in the Boys Season 3 episode “Herogasm”.

Chace Crawford, fortunately, was able to rely on Eric Kripke to best handle this famous scene in Season 3, for which the actor “I almost had a stroke” :

The actor mentioned that he did not have a coordinator for these scenes with the “octopus”, which is clearly fake and created with props and special effects. But Chace Crawford was able to film on a small set with few people and in peace.

This first comeback definitely convinced Chace Crawford for the new intimate scenes he shared with Ambrosius in season 4 of The Boys. Judi Dench was unavailable, so the boy band called Tilda Swinton! The actor known for his roles in The Chronicles of Narnia, We Need to Talk About Kevin, Moonrise, The Snowblower, Transpersonage and Only Lovers Left Alive played an octopus for some amazing sequences to keep the boys entertained.

And according to Eric Kripke, Tilda Swinton really took part in this unique experience: “He didn’t know any of us, but he thought, ‘That sounds funny, it’s me,’ and he did it.”
