Thor: Love and Thunder will surprise you.

After Ragnarok (2017) has divided opinions, the new solo film of the hero manages to conquer, entertain and excite.

In a balanced script by Taika Waititi, who is also the director, and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the production maintains the roots of the good humor that the character has always carried in his veins, but manages to make people laugh with jokes full of lightness and wit, leaving that carries that more “slapstick” trait that we have seen before.

With a compact and powerful cast, Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman give rhythm to a story that goes straight to the point, without leaving too many loose ends and it’s fantastic. Amor and Thunder has no room to waste time, it’s slim, fun to watch, and brings out the best in its characters. Speaking of character, we need to talk about the Mighty Thor. Natalie Portman manages to deliver a strong and at the same time vulnerable heroine, who moves in her fight against a disease, a factor that comes from a direct connection with the comics.

Plus, Christian Bale’s intense villain is one of the film’s other strengths. Bale’s Gorr is the dramatic charge that the film balances so well. Despite the humorous moments, the film already begins with an intense scene of the villain and his transformation. With a compelling reason why he’s become the Butcher of the Gods, Bale fills the screen with layers of talent from him in an MCU-level villain.

post scenes

Be prepared because we have spoilers below, as we will be talking about the two post-credits scenes from Thor: Love and Thunder. You are probably wondering if the second scene is really worth waiting for, which is usually more of a joke, but I assure you this is worth watching.

The first scene after Thor: Love and Thunder is a long awaited moment for comic fans. In it, we see XXX’s Zeus rebelling from the humiliation and exposure he spent at the hands of Thor, Valkyrie and Mighty Thor. After their visit to Olympus, the three manage to steal Zeus’ lightning bolt, his powerful weapon, and leave him in a very vulnerable position in front of those who worship him. Realizing that the gods are losing strength and his morale is low, he summons his son, Hercules, to pursue Thor and bring justice. In the comics, Hercules is one of Thor’s main opponents.

Much had already been speculated about the arrival of Hercules in the MCU, but it was not yet known who would be chosen. For the role, Marvel cast Brett Goldstein, who recently appeared on the hit series Ted Lasso. Despite a few minutes on the screen, we see that Brett’s Hercules arrives with a more intense vein, without much “mimimi”.

The second scene is more exciting. After the strong scene of Jane’s farewell and death, our mighty Thor appears in Valhalla, where the gods go when they die in battle. With Hendall, Thor’s lifelong partner, the scene concludes that she, even with little time in possession of the hammer, she died and lived as a goddess.
