Midfielder Sandry spoke about the difficult times of injuries suffered. Even so, the youngster was once again observed and participated in Santos matches in the 2024 season.
The player has recovered from the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, suffered on July 16 in the match against San Paolo.
“Giving up was never an option, because before I came to Santos I had no prospects. It’s a dream to be able to help on the pitch, so I know that giving up was never an option. Now we just have to look ahead. We got a win that gives us more encouragement, because at home we were doing well, but away from home we weren’t doing so well and we needed this win.” – said the player.

The athlete has suffered serious injuries since the 2021 season and has not been able to maintain a sequence of games, but reinforces his gratitude for being back on the field.
“There is a movie in my head, because it was a difficult time in my life. I think only the people here at the club and my family know what I went through. Afterwards I suffered a series of injuries that ended up taking away my record. I can only thank God for giving me strength every day and also thank everyone who helped me in some way“.
Interestingly, Sandry had one of the injuries and returned with Fábio Carille in 2021. Now, the moment repeats itself three years later.
“It’s a funny thing, because in my first injury, in 2021, the recovery and my comeback also happened with Professor Carille here. He already knew me, so he knew the process I was going through. I spent a lot of time training to get my physical condition and when he needed it I was ready to help him..”
The midfielder started in the win against Ceará and is slowly gaining ground. In the next match against Ituano, the central defender should be an option on the bench.
