A New York Times (NYT) photographer appears to have captured the trajectory of the bullet that struck former US President Donald Trump in the ear during an attack on Saturday the 13th. The photo was captured by Doug Mills, a veteran professional for the periodical.
A retired FBI agent was interviewed by the NYT and confirmed that it was indeed possible to capture the trajectory of the bullet. “This could certainly show a bullet moving through the air,” said Michael Harrigan, who spent 22 years at the US institution.
“The angle seems a little low for going past his ear, but not impossible if the shooter fired several shots,” he added.
The camera Doug Mills used was a Sony, a model capable of capturing images at up to 30 frames per second. He took these photos with a shutter speed of 1/8,000 of a second, extremely fast by industry standards.
The retired FBI agent was even more forceful in his assessment. “Under the circumstances, if this doesn’t show the trajectory of the bullet through the air, I don’t know what it could,” Harrigan said.

Attack on Trump
Former President Donald Trump was hastily removed from the stage after gunfire disrupted the rally he was speaking at Saturday, April 13, in Butler, Pennsylvania. He had visible bloodstains on his ear when he was taken away by security.
The shooter and one of Donald Trump’s supporters at the rally were killed. Two other rallygoers are hospitalized in serious condition.
Trump later took to his social media platform, Truth, to say he had been shot in the ear. “I was hit by a bullet that pierced the top of my right ear. I knew right away something was wrong because I heard a buzzing sound, gunshots, and immediately felt the bullet tear my skin. There was a lot of blood, so I knew what was happening,” he wrote.
