Longlegs: Serial killer’s scary look was inspired by Nicolas Cage’s mother

One of the most anticipated horror films of 2024, which premieres on August 29 in Brazilian cinemas, Longlegs – Deadly Bond stars Nicolas Cageinterpreter of a serial killer with a scary look, inspired by the actor’s own mother.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cage recalled it as a very unusual situation with his mother, Joy Birdsangand how this influenced the preparation for Longlegsdirected by Oz Perkins and also starring Maika Monroe.

“My mother spread cold cream Noxzema. I was two years old and I opened the bathroom door [para ver] what she was doing. For no reason, she turned her face very quickly and looked at me after [colocar] the cold cream. The whiteness of the cold cream really scared me,” said the artist.

So, with a consolidated career and years after this “trauma,” Nicolas Cage found inspiration. The makeup team at Longlegs used prosthetics and completely white skin to alter the 60-year-old actor’s appearance. He then spoke a little about his character’s conflicts:

He has a strange connection to the color white. I don’t really know what it is. He says it’s just a force he’s aware of. You don’t question it too much. He knows it when he sees it.
