After 45 years, the alien Romulus will revisit the most memorable scene of the science fiction saga.

No one in space can hear you scream. At the cinema, a little more and maybe your neighbor will pay starting August 14, the day Alien Romulus comes out.

The ninth opus in the saga started by Ridley Scott in the late 70s (including Prometheus and the Covenant, as well as Xenomorph encounters with the Predator), the feature film promises to be terrifying. And the final trailer only proves it.

Between the dirty facehuggers and the shiny, tired Xenomorph, these images don’t contain much more news than the previous ones. But we can only applaud this film’s desire to keep as many surprises as possible for its release and emphasize its atmosphere.

We also notice that the starting point of the story is similar to one of Fede Alvarez’s previous films Don’t Breathe, with a group of friends breaking in to steal something before it goes bad.

It’s too bad in the case of certain characters, like the one with whom the Uruguayan director revisits the famous Chestbuster scene from the first Alien, using an X-ray machine we shouldn’t get too attached to the characters.

Set between the events of Aliens and Aliens , Romulus will be helmed by Kaley Spahn, who is establishing herself as one of the revelations of 2024 after her roles in Priscilla and Civil War . And which could offer a place of choice in pop culture if it succeeds this summer.
