“It is with great sadness that we report the death of Jimmy the night of July 6th,” he wrote in the post. “The family appreciates the outpouring of love and sincere condolences and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. End of tweet.”

Son of sophie and Arthur Caan, James LangstonEdmund Caan was born on March 26, 1940 in New York City, United States. The star had five children, with four different wives: tare, Scott, Alexander James, James Arthur and Jacob Nicholas Caan.

The first credit caan in a film dating from 1964, as Randall in The Caged Lady. Other prominent roles include Axel Freed in The player (1974) and Billy Rose in funny lady (1975), for which he was nominated for two awards at the Golden Globe. More recently, she played Frank Vitale in Mickey Blue Eyes (1999), the big man in dogville (2003) and Mr. Riccoli in New York I Love You (2008).

The actor also stood out for playing the writer Paul Sheldon in crazy obsession (1990), film based on the book by Stephen King that yielded the Oscar in Best actress for Kathy Bateswho lived Annie Wilkes.

James Caan was indicated to Oscar only once, in 1973. It was recognized in the category of Best Supporting Actor for work in The Godfatherbut lost to Joel Grayinterpreter of MC in the movie cabaret (1972).
