A Better Life Preview: Episode Summary for Friday, July 8, 2022 [SPOILERS]

Upon entering his daughter’s house, Leo finds her on the phone with Tim. Their conversation is heated. The journalist insists that Barbara join him in Paris, but the latter cannot overcome the betrayal. She hangs up the phone, then blocks it before she bursts into tears. Father comforts him.

Abdel, on the other hand, tries in vain to contact Elisa for news. He then informs his father that the case is closed. Karim apologizes to his son for what happened. After which Abdel has a meeting with a former client who is still in conflict in his neighborhood. Finally, he takes advantage of Nisma’s termination to end his professional relationship with this client.

Meanwhile, Barbara is drowning her sorrows at work. He tells Thomas that he feels ready for a new challenge: in this case, he wants to get their restaurant a star.

At the same time, Elisa arrives at Abdel’s with a box containing five years of BTC accounting. Abdel realizes that he destroyed his father’s trust so that he could corner him. Two lovers meet again. Later, Barbara sees them kiss after putting up the board…

Eric wakes up in a bad mood: his apartment is dirty, messy, and Ariane calls him and asks him to take her to the police station because she’s getting impatient with the junk dealer she’s been questioning for two days. At the scene, Eric watches her interrogate him to get information out of him, to no avail. He thinks he should let her go. Ariane is surprised by his colleague’s lack of fortitude. The latter admits that he is simply tired. Moreover, he is ready to leave the police station when Ariane reminds him that it is Bukrane’s retirement party.

Eric tries to attend. After all, it helps Ariane to settle down. When she questions him about his situation, Eric reveals that he doesn’t want to be a cop anymore. At the end of the day, Eric joins Simon, who takes him to a rejuvenated place with a magnificent view. Eric admits he doesn’t want to go anymore…

Even if they can count on Manon’s help, Patrick and Jean-Paul fear that their partner won’t be taking care of the children for the next few weeks. The latter, on their way out, try to convince themselves that they can manage without them.

Leah and Babette put on a good face during their goodbyes. But once in the ambulance that takes them to the Basque Country, they explode in anger and frustration.

Meanwhile, while local radio praises firefighters for bringing the wildfires under control inland, a fire attack erupts…
