Warning, spoilers. It is recommended to watch Dragon House Season 2 Episode 6 before reading this article.
Season 2 of House of the Dragon is slowly coming to an end, but the war between Black and Green has only just begun. After the bloody battle, both sides suffered great loss and damage.
On the green side, Emond (Iwan Mitchell) became Prince Regent, taking the place of Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), who was badly burned and still recovering. On the Black side, Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) is tired of being inactive and letting others fight for her.
But above all, his camp was weakened after the Daemon (Matt Smith) went to Harrenhal to recruit allies. Although he has taken the place because the castellan Sir Simon Strong has pledged his allegiance to him and is in the process of rebuilding Harrenhal with a number of men, the demon is a victim of suspicion.
Indeed, Rhaenyra’s uncle is influenced by the presence of Alice Rivers, a witch who makes him believe that Harrenhal is haunted and who forces him to drink a strange potion to corrupt his mind. From episode to episode, Alice is tormented by a demon who foretells certain death in these places.
- ‘Our biggest success was keeping it a secret’: How did this surprise cameo come about in Dragon House?
The demon will have unsettling visions such as his dead ex-wife Laena Velarion, a younger version of Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) whom he kills himself, or even his own mother with whom he makes love.
Another surprise in the second season of “Dragon House”.
In House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 6, titled “The Little People”, another member of his family appears to the demon. And above all, it’s another surprise worthy return of the younger version of Rhaenyra, played by Millie Alcock, as she’s another major character from the first season of the Game of Thrones spin-off.
It is her brother and former king, Visser Targaryen, who appears to her at Harrenhal in two scenes filled with tension and emotion. And one of the sequences is quite disturbing, as it recalls another key scene from the series pilot, in which Viserys banishes a demon from King’s Landing.
So this is a retelling of that scene with a different twist, this time the demon reacts differently, he’s not smiling cheekily, but on the verge of tears. This sequence shows how emotionally disturbed the demon is and that it can explode at any moment.
Sarah Hess, one of Dragon House’s main writers, explained a few months ago Entertainment Weekly that Harrenhal was the best way to explore the demon’s personality and to get to know the smallest corners of his psyche of this insane, violent and rather reserved character:
“Sending him to Harrenhal in Season 2 seemed like an opportunity to show him a little bit more. We could use that to destabilize him enough or make things look, even symbolically, or show what’s going on in his heart and mind.”
Alice Rivers plays a major role in this kind of “therapy” or demon awakening at Harrenhal, even if it involves probing her psyche against her will. And the appearance of Viserys is a major turning point for the demon in this mental journey.
“As his story unfolds in Harrenhal, the demon must confront his past, his choices, and his achievements.”explained Ryan Condall, co-creator of the series.
Is this actor really back for “Dragon House” season 2?
This preview of a memorable scene from the first season raises questions. Was it pre-filmed or did actor Paddy Considine move to the second season set to film with Matt Smith?
contacted TVLineHBO confirmed that Paddy Considine returned for the occasion to don the Viserys costume once again to share the scene with Matt Smith.

This comes as no surprise, as Daemon and Viserys share another very different scene that would have required the presence of Paddy Considine. In this second vision, the demon comforts Viserys, who is weeping over the body of his wife Emma, who died in childbirth after giving birth to their son Baelon, who will also die after him.
Daemon apologizes to Viserys and regrets not being there for him when he needed it. At the end of the episode, we leave the demon in bad shape, ready to betray Renira in order to rebel at her side and become king. Will the visions imposed by Alice bring him back to his senses and to Rhaenyra?
