Even when he followed his heart to do a greater good, he remained stuck on Earth, broadcasting low-quality existences in his poems for a time and, eventually, Black PhaseHe’s spanned all of space and time in the current iteration of the Marvel Universe to prevent reality itself from disappearing, all without ever getting recognition, a snack, or an invitation to an Avengers barbecue.

And now, Marvel, not content with wallowing in the beachless life of Caiçara in absurd and thankless missions, has now found a way to give its version of 2099 a real infernal master.
Silver Surfer becomes the herald of his greatest enemy
The Cosmic Saga Annihilation is one of Marvel’s greatest epics and helped the publisher revitalize several characters and reposition its star corner with more dignity in 2006. The space opera brought together major intergalactic icons in a storyline in which Earth’s heroes were excluded because they were too busy arguing Civil war.
Casa das Ideias plans to use the 2099 version to do the same in the reconstruction of the 90s line that returned with relative success after the good stories of Spider-Man 2099 and Cosmic Ghost Rider, which, while not exactly part of this possible future, have a similar imprint in their adventures.

And, of course, a saga called Annihilation You can’t live without Silver Surfer. In Annihilation 2099 #4the preview of this week’s issue shows an elderly mutant dying after years of protecting her caste. Lo and behold, moments before kickoff, Chantal Govinda is visited by a Silver Surfer who doesn’t look much like Norrin Radd.
After trading your soul with the cosmic caiçara, your horned hellish apparition with fire coming out of your chest begins the sensing phase. This Silver Surfer actually worked as a herald for his master, the devil Mephisto. This doesn’t seem so absurd because Captain Marvel has always wanted the soul of Norrin Radd, considered one of the purest in the Marvel Universe.
Therefore, it is not yet possible to know whether Mephisto has finally managed to dominate Norrin Radd or if he is another alter-ego of the Silver Surfer. What is certain is that his flames connect him to the Cosmic Ghost Rider and that his role has become much more cowardly, since, instead of giving worlds to Galactus to devour, he now seeks pure and brave souls for his new master to consume – which is a phase.
Let’s continue to follow what this moral degradation of the Silver Surfer will lead to.
