Actor Calls Incident ‘Just a Scratch’, Denies Abuse Allegations
Actor Armie Hammer, known for films such as “Call Me By Your Name,” “The Social Network” and “Death on the Nile,” has defended himself from cannibalism and sexual abuse allegations he has been facing since 2021. However, the entertainer admitted that he had already used a knife to carve his initial into one of his ex-girlfriends, influencer Paige Lorenze. Armie preferred to call the incident “just a scratch” and said that “there wasn’t even any blood in the situation.” “It was like a couple tattooing each other’s initials,” he explained, while appearing on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” this week.
Faced with the revelation, presenter Piers Morgan retorted that branding someone with a knife “is very different to a tattoo,” to which the actor again defended himself. “It’s less permanent. I promise you it was a small thing,” he said. He said he was aware that the act might seem “weird” to some, but said that, to others, it might “sound like a very romantic gesture.”
Armie has also vehemently denied allegations of cannibalism and sexual abuse made by former lovers. “To be a cannibal, you have to eat someone. […] None of these people [que o acusaram] I was hurt or upset because I crossed sexual boundaries,” she said.
Understanding the case
Allegations of cannibalism and abuse against the actor also surfaced in 2021. Armie was separately accused by three women of sexual abuse. The case was handled by the Los Angeles Police Department, but closed due to lack of evidence, according to Tiffiny Blacknell, the district’s communications director: “It was impossible to substantiate the allegations.”
Influencer Paige Lorenze filed her own lawsuit that year. At the time, Paige said Armie Hammer had carved her initial with a knife near her vagina. “I just sat back and let it happen,” the influencer told Page Six. “I didn’t really know what to do or say… As sad as it is, I wanted him to like me and feel like I was willing to do what he wanted,” she added. She and the actor dated for four months in 2020.
Last June, Armie spoke out for the first time about the allegations and said he was “grateful” for them. On the Painful Lessons podcast, he said the case taught him to “love myself.” “I didn’t feel good at that point in my life, not happy with myself, not having any self-esteem, not giving myself any love. I was a black hole, regardless of the praise, the adoration of the fans. That little key changed to a lot of hatred, a spiritual and emotional crisis,” he said.
