False connections are a common occurrence in movies and TV series. No program is free from this type of error, not even Plus belle la vie, even more beautiful. And it was in episode 144, which aired this Friday, July 26, that this minor editing error was caught.
A party that turns into drama
This Friday, a large number of Mistralians gathered to attend a charity event organized by Leah Nebut (Marie Henerez). For the occasion, Thomas (Laurent Kerussore) improvised as a caterer to help his friend.
But just as the party is in full swing and the event’s star artist prepares to unveil his latest work, Mistral’s manager, standing by, collapses and is injured in a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, none of the guests saw what happened. And just as the character falls to the ground, a false connection is found.
Thomas disappeared
When Thomas is injured, the camera alternates between character shots and wide shots where we see the scene from a distance. But in some of these shots, Laurent Kerussore seems to magically disappear.
At 20 minutes and 35 seconds, when Thomas is shot, he is slightly elevated, in front of the double glass doors. The camera freezes on him for a long time. We see him look at his hands, covered in blood, and then fall to the ground. At no time does he walk or crawl for cover.
At 20 minutes 44 seconds, less than 10 seconds later, a wide shot shows the same goal, but Thomas is nowhere to be seen. However, the character is wearing a light blue polo shirt. So it’s hard to miss.

The same after every wide shot: Thomas is not on the ground. A nice faux pas that could have easily been avoided if the production had thought to use a double. And did you see this false connection?
