Deadpool and Wolverine: Which superheroes and mutants are in the movie? Who is Lady Deadpool? We answer with this spoiler paper!

After a long wait, Deadpool & Wolverine, which marks the on-screen reunion of Ryan Reynolds and his sidekick Hugh Jackman, is finally hitting theaters.

Failing to join the Avengers in this Sean Levy feature film, Wade Wilson bounces from one small job to another without really finding his way. Until the day a high-ranking officer of the anachronistic Variation Court offers him a mission worthy of his… on the condition that he sees his world and everyone he loves destroyed. After flatly refusing, Wade dons the Deadpool costume once again and tries to convince Wolverine to help him save the world…

The film marks the arrival of the loudmouthed mercenary (proclaimed to be Marvel’s Jesus) and mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But who are the superheroes and mutants in the movie?

If a lot of names have been thrown around since the project was announced, which one really pops up Deadpool & Wolverine ? We tell you everything.

When Hugh Jackman’s return and several Wolverine options were announced, many names of actors were floated to portray the clawed mutant, including Daniel Radcliffe, Taron Egerton and Henry Cavill. But Hugh Jackman himself embodies other variants of his character. except one…

And so it is Henry Cavill, a former DC Superman who plays a variant role in a white shirt repairing a motorcycle and smoking a cigar. During the sequence, Deadpool also tells her that she would be treated better if she came to him. Note James Gunn’s replacement of Henry Cavill with David Korensvet in the new DC Universe, which is clearly making fans happy if the hilarious reactions at the screening are to be believed.

Are the Avengers in Deadpool & Wolverine?

A second cameo, no less… Upon arriving at the Vortex, Deadpool and Wolverine encounter “The One”, a hooded hero. When the latter is discovered, Wade Wilson and the public are left reeling… it’s Chris Evans. But when the latter takes off the cape, we find out that the actor played not Captain America 20 years ago, but another superhero: Johnny Storm, aka the Torch in Tim Story’s The Fantastic 4.

The movie mentions multiple times, are there any Avengers in the cast? Jon Favreau – reprising his role as Happy Hogan, Iron Man’s driver turned security director – appears at the start of Deadpool & Wolverine. The Avengers, on the other hand, appear in the film only through TVA screens or photos and objects.

When Deadpool talks to Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen), he sees Captain America, the Hulk, and especially Thor in a scene he’s never seen before, and which intrigues Wade. Deadpool, clearly on the verge of death, lies crying in Thor’s arms. If Chris Hemsworth does not officially appear in the film, he should direct this series Ryan Reynolds.

Two other Avengers are mentioned without appearing in their usual form… During a quick scene in which Deadpool is looking for a Wolverine variant, we briefly see the Hulk’s easily recognizable arms and back.

When they’re in the vortex and meet Cassandra Nova’s (Emma Corrine) character for the first time, Deadpool & Wolverine realize that the latter’s ship is nothing more than a giant Ant-Man suit and Scott Lang was still inside as we see. His skull… the scene that allows Wade Wilson to joke about the fact that Paul Rudd hasn’t aged.

Cassandra Nova also mentions a witch she killed who wore a ring that opened portals. This is one of Doctor Strange’s options.

Which mutants are in the casting?

As previously announced, several mutants are appearing in the Deadpool & Wolverine cast. In the trailer already seen, the mutant Pyro – who appeared in X-Men, X-Men 2 and The Last Stand – finds Wolverine and Deadpool in the Vortex. The latter leads the procession of Cassandra Nova’s followers. Comedian Aaron Stanford reprises the role.

He is accompanied by Sabretooth, Wolverine’s sworn enemy, played by Tyler Maine. The two characters already clashed on the big screen in the first X-Men directed by Bryan Singer, but Tyler Maine hasn’t had a role since: It’s over. In the 2009 prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it was Liev Schreiber who brought the character to life. The mutant shown in one of the Deadpool & Wolverine trailers will make a brief appearance in the film.

Other mutants from the previous movies who will be in Purgatory: Toad (Ray Park), Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu), Scourge, Callisto, Russian and Azazel. Most famous mutants do not appear in the cast, but some are mentioned, such as Charles Xavier, Cyclops, Tornado, Jean, and Quicksilver.

During the end credits, a video shot on the set of previous X-Men movies shows the various mutants Wolverine has encountered during his adventures.

What about the first generation of superheroes?

Finally, Logan, the young X-23 that Logan saved in James Mangold’s film, is back in Sean Levy’s film. The latter, still played by Daphne Keene, is stuck in purgatory and teams up with other superheroes…

among which is Electra. Jennifer Garner, announced at the beginning of filming, plays the role of a superhero. Trapped in the Vortex, Elextra is back 21 years after Daredevil and Rob Bowman’s spin-off. Alongside him, viewers find Wesley Snipes in the shoes of the “one and only” Blade, a vampire hunter.

Accompanying them is a fourth hero who never got a chance to have his own spin-off movie: Gambit, played by Channing Tatum. A cameo that will delight MCU fans. Remy LeBeau, known as Gambit, is a mutant who can use hypnotic powers and manipulate kinetic energy. The character was played by Taylor Kitsch in the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

But in 2014, Twentieth Century Fox announced a film centered around the character, this time played by Channing Tatum. The actor even learned to play cards and learned a Cajun accent to best suit the character. But in 2019, the project was finally canceled. These heroes are caught in the vortex because Marvel (Oh, VAT) doesn’t know what to do with their characters. Here he will offer them a moving ending worthy of their past greatness. Another character from the Marvel Universe to appear in the feature film: Aliot, a trans-temporal being who serves as a guardian of the Void and is fed by Cassandra Nova along with her recruits. This smoke dragon has already appeared in the Disney+ series Loki. Also previously seen in the series, the Hunter B-15 from TVA, played by Wunmi Mossau, appears at the end of Deadpool & Wolverine.

But who is Lady Deadpool?

The identity of the female version of Deadpool has set the internet on fire since the heroine first appeared in the trailer. Taylor Swift, Blake Lively, Morena Baccarin, Ryan Reynolds ? Who could be hiding under the red jumpsuit and long blonde ponytail?

Well… we can’t really tell by watching the movie because the character keeps the mask! On the other hand, the most observant will recognize the actor’s voice and see his name in the credits. Without much of a surprise, it’s Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds’ hometown companion, who plays Lady Deadpool in the film. Before that, Wade Wilson mentions his lover twice: by quoting Gossip Girl at the beginning of the film and by mentioning Blake’s name in a conversation with Logan.

What about other Deadpool options?

But Blake Lively didn’t come to the set of the movie alone, as Baby Deadpool (according to the end credits) is played by Olin Reynolds, the couple’s youngest child. It was also at the premiere of the film, which took place on July 22 in New York Ryan Reynolds and bLake Lively The name of the fourth child born in February 2023 was revealed.

Does Deadpool Cowboy’s voice ring a bell? This is normal, because it is about the American comedian Matthew McConaughey.

The most observant viewers will also notice that one of the variants of Deadpool wears the crest of the Wrexham AFC football team, owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhaney, on his costume. The latter also makes a cameo in the film as a television soldier.

Note also that Wrexham AFC player Ollie Palmer makes a brief appearance as a customer in a bar run by Greg Hemphill, which houses Wolverine in a yellow jumpsuit.
