Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo launch their own podcast on NCIS! The premise is simple: Tony and Ziva’s respective translators watch old episodes of the show while commentating on them, revealing juicy behind-the-scenes anecdotes to fans.
Cote de Pablo covered by Mark Harmon
under the name Off Duty: NCIS RewatchIt should be translated into Moliere’s language “Out of Service: NCIS Review“), the format is also an opportunity for the duo to get other former NCIS iconic faces (such as Sasha Alexander aka Kate) to the microphone. Sean Murray (McGee), for example, took to “Workout.”
During his time on the podcast, Cote de Pablo recalled the day Mark Harmon (Gibbs, who is getting his own series) somewhat berated him on the set of NCIS. The actor says:I was sick in season 3, really really sick, and the doctor came to the house. I had a terrible fever and he told me: you can’t go to work.“
“It’s a lot of pressure”
“So I said to myself, “Well, if the doctor tells me I can’t go to work, I have to follow his orders.” That’s why I made a big mistake, I stayed at homerecalls the actor. They sent me a car, I went to the set and Mark came to see me. He was quite nice, but also very strict (…) and he would say: “Come to the set and then we’ll see how we approach this problem”.“
Cote de Pablo finally ended his intervention with humor: “By the way, I don’t think I’ll ever get sick again! (…) And when you think, anyone can do a job, better, worse, it doesn’t matter. But nobody can play McGee, nobody can play DiNozzo. No one can play any character. So you really have to be there and it’s a lot of pressure.”
