Following Ted Lasso, this new comedy about the world of sports promises to be irresistible

Many fans of Ted Lasso are hoping that a fourth season will see the light of day. As it stands, the series, which stars Jason Sudeikis as the American coach of the English football team, is considered to be over and, therefore, the program is not scheduled to return.

That’s okay, because a new series produced by AppleTV+ could be a worthy successor to Ted Lasso. The play, which does not yet have an official title, is described as a comedy set in the ruthless world of golf.

No official title, but casting already announced!

Price Cahill, the former circuit star whose career came to an abrupt end after an incident, has fired himself from the sporting goods store where he worked. The latter then decides to bet everything on the young 17-year-old prodigy who has been heralded as golf’s next great.

In the absence of a title, the series already has a solid cast, including Owen Wilson (Loki) in the title role; The young prodigy who accompanies him, in turn, is played by Peter Dagger (Insidious: The Red Door). It was also announced that Timothy Olyphant ( Justified ) will appear as Clarke, a former professional golfer whose path once crossed that of Price.

This comedy is written and directed by Jason Keller, who co-wrote the film Le Mans 66. A 10-episode first season was ordered last March by AppleTV+; Filming for the show will begin before the end of the year, with it expected to air on the streaming service next year.
