Director of Alien: Romulusone of the most successful films in 2024, Fede Alvarez revealed how one of the characters in the production, released on August 15 in Brazilian cinemas, was inspired by the game The Last of Us Part II (2020).
In a publication made in Twittercurrently called Xthe filmmaker explained how the pregnancy thing Kayplayed by Isabella Mercedappeared when he was playing the second game in the franchise, developed by Naughty Dog.
“Fun fact: I was playing The Last Of Us 2 while writing Alien: Romulus. The story of a Dina pregnant made me think about having the character pregnant too. So I chose Isabela Merced to play Kay,” he wrote.
Coincidentally, Merced was chosen to interpret the version live-action of the game, produced by HBO and starring Bella Ramsey and Peter Pascal. Furthermore, a follower compared Navarro (Aileen Wu) with Levalso of The Last of Us. In response, Alvarez just put up a cryptic GIF.
