One of the most famous and cult film franchises is, without a doubt, “Alien”. Mixing science fiction, horror and action, the “Alien” series has profoundly influenced pop culture and has won fans all over the world.

It all started with Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic “Alien: The 8th Passenger,” which was a critical and commercial success. Since then, footage has been released exploring the battles between the Xenomorphs and the iconic Ellen Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver.

However, the franchise goes far beyond Ellen Ripley. In total, there are seven films in the main series and two more crossovers with the “Predator” series. Some of these films do not feature Ripley and feature events that precede the events of the 1979 original.

The events of the prequel “Alien: Covenant” take place eleven years after its predecessor “Prometheus”.

Despite being the first film in the saga, the events of “Alien: The 8th Passenger” take place 18 years after “Alien: Covenant”.

Despite being the most recent film in the series, the events of “Alien: Romulus” take place between the first two films released. The plot takes place after “Alien – The 8th Passenger” and before “Aliens: The Rescue” (1986).
