It’s so obvious that we had to think about it! Netflix recently hired Barry Keoghan to star in his film Peaky Blinders, which is currently in production on the other side of the channel.

The 31-year-old Irish actor, in good shape, joins an already high-quality cast that currently includes Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson. Seen in The Banshees of Inisherin (for which he won an award), he was talked about again in late 2023 for his impressive performance in Saltburn (especially this scene) to watch on Prime Video.
This choice seems obvious, as the aesthetics of the world fit the look of the actor. Let us remind you, the series tells the story of a family of criminals in Birmingham. Nicknamed the “Picky Blinders” because of their use of razor blades hidden in their hats, they make their money mainly by betting and stealing…
The untold story for Peaky Blinders
As with Ferguson, the character played by Keoghan is being kept under wraps and we’ll have to wait until we get any real information on this feature film. Steven Knight, the showrunner of the series, has given very few details about the sequel, which he has already finished writing. All we know is that it will take place during World War II, that it will be a new story, and that it will end the adventures of the Shelby family and the Peaky Blinders gangsters.
It’s due to start filming in England by the end of the year – directed by Tom Harper (Agent Stone) – and hopefully hit Netflix in 2025. Now it remains to be seen if the rest of the cast from the original series will return, or if the platform will continue to announce other big names like Barry Keoghan… Wait and see. *
