We will have to wait until November 10th before returning to Yellowstone. The Western series went through an unusual hiatus, mainly because of the writers’ strike in Hollywood, but also due to internal tensions.
After a long media streak, Kevin Costner decided not to continue filming the series, leaving John Dutton’s fate in the hands of screenwriter Taylor Sheridan. We still don’t know how the character’s absence will be handled in the rest of the show.
Will Dutton die for the rest of Season 5?
The information was probably given in a poster released by Paramount+ last night. A figure is seen from behind (this is Rip, the ranch foreman) in the Dutton family graveyard.
A freshly dug grave stands before him: is it the grave of John Dutton? Or was that hole dug for another character, like Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) the ugly duckling of the family?

Originally, the second part of season 5 was announced as the last. But against all expectations, the American media announced discussions with the main stars of Yellowstone for a potential 6th season. The new trailer for the program (see above) does not refer to any ending or conclusion.
Number 1 series in the United States
Present day, Yellowstone follows the story of a rancher determined to protect his family’s property from sinister developers who want to take it over. But John Dutton must also prepare for the future, determining which of his sons will be best suited to inherit the clan’s legacy.
From the first season, the series met with phenomenal success in the United States. Since then, two prequels have seen the light of day: 1883, which depicts the Duttons’ arrival in Montana, and 1923, with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Other series coming soon: Madison (a sequel to Yellowstone), a 1944 prequel, and a spin-off set in 6666 Texas Ranch, where Jim (Jefferson White) now works.
All series from the world of Yellowstone can be seen on Paramount+, also available with a subscription to Canal+.
