Federal MP Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) said that the Speaker of the House, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), will have to put on the agenda the bill that provides for amnesty for those arrested in the January 8, 2023 coups if he wants the support of the right to his candidate to succeed him as Speaker of the House.
“If President Lira wants to have the votes of the right for his candidate for the presidency of the Chamber, he should plan an amnesty for political prisoners this year,” Nikolas said, in a counter-action to the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo, on the afternoon of this Saturday, September 7.
The Constitution and Justice Committee of the Chamber (CCJ), chaired by the PL, is expected to discuss next Tuesday, 10, the Proposal for Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) which provides for amnesty for those convicted of coup acts.
Along with former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republican), and several right-wing senators, Nikolas Ferreira also called the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), “vile” because the senator has already said he will not request the impeachment of Moraes.
“Schedule the impeachment of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, coward,” the deputy said then in a speech to the electric trio. Pacheco has already stated that the pressure to vote on this project will have no effect.
