In a recent video interview with Wired, Halle Berry said that Pierce Brosnan “restored faith in men” while filming the James Bond film Die Another Day in 2002. Brosnan’s last appearance in an action film was 007 after Seven. The period of the year that began with GoldenEye in 1995. The actress, in turn, played James Bond girl Jinx in the feature film.
“He will always be my Bond, always– he said when asked about his experience on the film. “I’m a fan of Pierce Brosnan. He restored my faith in the men in this film. There couldn’t be a more gentlemanly man than Pierce Brosnan.“
“Bond wasn’t on my wish list, no, although I’ve always liked the movies– continued the actor. “After participating in one of them, I feel like I am a part of cinema history. These movies are iconic. They will forever be a part of our history and I am honored to have been a part of it, especially with Pierce.“
Jinx quickly became a James Bond fan favorite, so much so that franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson began planning a spinoff film. Holly Berry. However, this did not happen.
“The plan fell through when MGM became afraid of the film’s $80 million budget. This decision angered Broccoli. One of his main goals as 007’s manager was to rid himself of some of the chauvinism that characterized Bond’s appearance in the novels and early films.,” reported Variety in 2020.
