Gusttavo Lima said that he and his company, Balada Eventos e Produções Limitada, are the object of “injustice” after the freezing of R$ 20 million from Balada’s accounts in a money laundering investigation. The compatriot spoke out this Sunday (9/8), after the program “Fantástico” showed details of the police operation investigating his company’s relationship with an illegal betting system.

The singer used his social networks to deny involvement in any criminal project, stating that “the authorities went too far” in linking his image to the operation. “Including Balada as a member of an alleged criminal and money laundering organization? It’s madness,” he said. According to him, his company was implicated in the investigation due to the sale of a plane, in 2023, to JMJ Participações, belonging to José da Rocha Neto, the target of the operation.

In addition to freezing R$ 20 million, the court ordered the seizure of properties and ships belonging to the Lima company. The operation aims to dismantle a criminal organization involved in illegal gambling and money laundering. Rocha Neto, owner of the Vai de Bet company, of which Gustavo Lima is the emblem, is considered a fugitive. The singer’s defense stressed that “he maintains a contract for the use of his image only in favor of the Vai de Bet brand” and that Balada “has always appreciated respect for the laws”.
