This Tuesday (10) the final matches of the first phase of the Brazilian Under-21 Beach Volleyball Circuit 2024 took place. The event took place in São Luís, Maranhão, at the Domingos Leal Arena, and saw Raissa and Clara, in the women’s category, and Lucas and Saymon, in the men’s category, as champions. This is the third title this year for the women’s duo from Paraíba, who also won gold in the first round of the Brazilian Interclub Championship (CBI) in the category and in the Copa Regional Nordeste 1.




Duo in pair

Raissa and Clara, both 19, were champions of the first stage of the Brazilian Under-21 Championship, beating Julhia and Ana Beatriz, by 2 sets to 0, with a double 21/18. This result in the capital of Maranhão was the third of three competitions played by the partnership since July. The Paraíban athletes also climbed to the top step of the podium in the inaugural stage of the Brazilian Interclub Championship (CBI) under-21, held in Uberlândia (MG), three months ago, and the Copa Regional Nordeste 1, in Fortaleza (CE). , in August. “It is important to have so many grassroots competitions at the national level. We have been together for three and a half years, we play these tournaments and we get good results. Recently we were champions of the CBI and the Regional Cup. This is our third title, in two months we are also looking for space in the adult events and tomorrow we will be here again”, said Clara. They will participate in the open qualifiers of the sixth stage of the Brazilian beach volleyball circuit, which will start on Wednesday (11).

Debut titled

In the men’s sector of the first phase of the Brazilian Under-21 Beach Volleyball Championship, Pedro Lucas and Saymon prevailed and also beat Dudu and Gabriel in direct sets, partial scores of 21/15 and 21/18. The two players debuted as a pair in São Luís and have already won the title. The bronze medal of the event went to the pair of Juca and Jonathan.

“We had already faced each other in several competitions and we knew each other’s qualities. Starting with a title is an important step, especially in an event with a high-level structure. We play on the same courts where the big names of this sport will play. playing; it’s a personal achievement”, said Saymon, 20.

The Brazilian Under 21 beach volleyball season will be divided into three more stages, the next one scheduled in João Pessoa, from October 13 to 16. The last two will be, respectively, in Rio de Janeiro and Maricá (RJ).
