This is where it all begins: “If I had stayed, I wouldn’t have been able to film this”… Mikael Mittelstadt talks about his big comeback.

After Nicolas Anselmo (Elliot), it’s Mikael Mittelstadt’s turn to return to the Auguste Armani Institute. Something to do for Greliot fans who have literally been waiting for this!

To find out more about Greg DeLobel’s return, we caught up with him on the set of the 1000th episode. The real stage begins here! Released in 2020, the series will celebrate its 4th anniversary next November.

And what better gift than the return of one of the flagship couples of everyday life? But then why? Michael Mittelstadt is he back What does it have for us? He spoke at the AlloCiné microphone!

AlloCiné: What does it mean to be back here, it all starts after so long?

Michael Mittelstadt: how is the return I’ve literally been trying to put it into words for two weeks and I can’t. It is a mixture of nostalgia, fear, anxiety. Is there something where we tell ourselves I’m not going back in time? Should we learn to make room for others? It’s a microphone for many things.

Is there still joy?

Yes, of course there is joy, a lot of fun. What a laugh we had with Lucien Bellews (Lionel) in the earlier sequence! It’s great, we’re even getting back to the dynamic we had before. It was as if nothing had happened, and at the same time, it was as if I knew very well that I had been gone for a year.

It’s also an honor to be back for the thousandth time, isn’t it?

Cruel! I was very embarrassed when I was offered. This is also included in this mix of emotions. After that, the condition was also that we really talk about it upstream, so that it’s not just hairs in the ointment where Greg shows up and says “Hey, hey!”

They had this arc with Lionel and the friendship support, the pillar that Greg represents, which for me was obviously extremely relevant, given that from the beginning, the friendship between these two is intrinsically tied to the fate of the character. That, to me, I said, “Good Banko.”

Going back to help her, to help her friend, is something I would do in my life, which I’ve already done, which I took advantage of when I was a friend in need, so no problem.

So you come back to be Lionel’s good friend who is at his worst. and Eliot as a teacher. And you too, would you like to return as a teacher?

It came out on its own in the sense that they suggested Nicholas come back for a while, really, because he’s been there longer than me.

And for me there were stories about planning with another project, which meant that it was impossible, but I did not close, obviously, the option, as we said, to return to the hundredth and wink.

So it turns out that it worked out really well in the sense that Nicholas was coming back as a judge. But I wasn’t offered it, but as a couple of judges, it would be really fun.

Could you go back without Nicholas Anselmo (Eliot)?

completely. That is, there is a world in which Nicholas returned without me, and vice versa.

Who do you relate to the most during these few episodes?

The two characters I relate to the most are Lionel and Benoit (Joseph Malerba).

Joseph returned to replace Teisier as principal. Is that why you interact?

Yes! So it actually comes into play because I’m going to ask for a favor from my father, who happens to be the director of the institute.

Are you grateful that this is where it all begins after it opened a few doors for you?

completely. It brought me a lot! The projects that I have, especially with Benjamin Barochet and even the newcomer, are projects that have come thanks to the ITC that has arrived.

It is the people I met at ITC who strongly encouraged my participation in these projects. And if it wasn’t for ITC, I wouldn’t be working on these projects, that’s for sure.

Besides, if it wasn’t for ITC, I would have stayed in America. I came back from America to work here.

Since your last appearance in the series, were you planning to return?

There was talk of returning there. And everyone, everyone said no. I was told “wait, you are riding an interesting wave with ITC awareness”! And it’s true, the experience we’ve been able to acquire over the years on a technical level – because it’s true that we are real, with all the modesty in the world, we are real war machines.

For example, last week I had to rush through a casting in 48 hours with literally 15 pages of text to study. My agent said, ‘Are you going to be OK?’ I said “yes of course”.

Thanks to the school, everything starts here, then?

Absolutely, but even the producers are happy, everyone is happy when they have an everyday actor, I was just saying that, they are very happy. We are going fast. We very quickly understand the optics, light changing stories, settings, changes.

Have you ever regretted leaving the series?

Of course there are phases of regret, we say to ourselves, did I do the right thing?

So did you get your answer?

Well, you know what? I came back, I was like, “Cool, I did the right thing.” Not: “Oh my, what else?” No, on the contrary, from a truly peaceful point of view, it is a kind of reassurance, where all the moments of doubt and regret that I might have had after leaving, which is true – we often hide in interviews, etc. – But this is very true.

All those moments yesterday when I was rehearsing this scene, when I learned it, I had a moment where I was like, “Okay, actually, go ahead, I did what I had to do, because if I stayed, I wouldn’t be able to film that, what we’re doing there, that exchange, no There was still gratitude, joy, emotion, torrent of tears.

Do you see your old playmates again?

Yes, yes, seriously! Julien Aluget (Zachary), many. Lucien, obviously. Niko, we saw each other in January-February, Zoe Severin (Jasmine), Joseph, many. We often call each other and Benjamin Barochet (Taissier). So yes, also the technicians I find on other projects.
