HPI on TF1: What’s in store for the rest of Season 4?

After months of waiting, HPI will make its grand return this Thursday, September 12 on TF1 with the final four episodes of Season 4 airing.

And with these new episodes, Morgan Alvaro (Audrey Fleurot) once again finds herself in a difficult situation after discovering she’s pregnant… without knowing the identity of the baby’s father. And after weeks of suspense, this Season 4 finale should give us a chance to lift the curtain on this thorny issue.

On the occasion of HPI’s takeover, AlloCiné spoke with Alisa Chegaray-Brunot and Julien Anscater, the directors of the detective series, to tell us about the challenges they faced while working on this season 4 script. Like what awaits our heroes in the final episodes.

Who is the father of the child?

The final four episodes of season 4 should finally give us an answer to the identity of the father of Morgan’s baby.

The biggest challenge was obviously the intrigue surrounding Morgan’s pregnancy. We had to choose the best father for this child and the one who would create the most intrigue behind him. Making this choice was really the biggest challenge.“Alisa Chegarai-Bruno explained to our microphone.

Obviously, HPI being what it is, the birth of Morgan’s baby at the end of Season 4 made things difficult for the writers as well. “We had to find an original way of giving birth“, confided the screenwriter.

It’s Morgan, it doesn’t have to be the same as everyone else.“A birth scene that should be great by Morgan Alvaro!

Morgan and Karadek’s relationship

If Morgan’s pregnancy is one of the central issues of HPI Season 4, it’s not the only one. The season 3 finale actually damaged the relationship between Karadek (Mehdi Nebibu) and the consultant, to the point where the police officer decided to leave Lillee DIPJ at the beginning of season 4.

At the beginning of the season, there was a rift between Karadek and Morgane due to the latter’s betrayal.“Alisa Chegarai-Bruno explained. “We had to embody Karadetz’s injury differently from previous times.”

We are used to seeing Karadech tired and angry Karadech. But here we had to show that it was deeper, that it was a pain that left traces and was not of the same nature as at other times. Therefore, Karadets leaves and resigns. We wanted to show that this time we were on a different subject.

Characters evolve

After four seasons on the air, the writers want to offer new storylines and develop characters so they don’t get stuck in stereotypes.

And in Season 4 of HPI, the characters have all new roles to play, with Morgan no longer the center of attention. “It becomes a challenge to renew ourselves when we get to season fourJulien Anskater explained.

In the first seasons, there are naturally new situations that arise between characters without us really having to think about them. In this fourth season, we really asked ourselves how to keep things from getting worse, to develop the relationships between the characters and how to not repeat ourselves and keep everything that we love about the series. The challenge for us was to find that balance.”

And the final four episodes of HPI Season 4 will bring surprises, just like Morgan and Karadek, as well as Gilles (Bruno Sanchez) and the rest of the team.

Catch HPI Season 4 this Thursday, September 12 from 9:10pm on TF1. The three previous seasons, as well as the first episodes of season 4, are fully available on the TF1+ platform.
