Feature film directed by Sean Baker, of Tangerine (2015) and The Florida Project (2017), will be shown at the São Paulo Film Festival before hitting theaters nationwide
Universal Pictures announced, this Thursday (12), the premiere date of Anoraa feature film written and directed by Sean Bakerof Tangerine (2015), Florida Project (2017) and Red Rocket (2021), which won the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
What is the story of Anora?
Anora tells the story of Ani (Mikey Madison, Panic), a stripper in Las Vegas, who ends up falling madly in love with the son of a Russian oligarch. Yura Borisov (The Soviet Captain), Alexey Serebryakov (Anonymous), Ivy Wolf (The Bubble), Lindsey Normington (The Idol) and Karren Karagulian (Red Rocket) are also in the cast.
In the competition for the main prize at the Cannes Film Festival, the film beat out productions such as Types of Kindnessof Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Creatures); Megalopolisof Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather); and Motel Destinoof Karim Ainouz (The Invisible Life). When does it premiere? Anora?
On its social media, Universal Pictures announced that Anora will hit Brazilian cinemas on October 31st of this year. Before that, the production will be screened at the 48th edition of the São Paulo International Film Festival, which will take place between October 17th and 30th. Check out the announcement:
