The Weeknd Releases Video for “Dancing in the Flames,” Song Revealed at Brazilian Show

Shot on an iPhone 16 Pro, the clip reveals the first single from the Canadian singer’s upcoming album

Singer The Weeknd has released the video for “Dancing in the Flames,” one of the new songs he revealed during his show in São Paulo a week ago. The recording is the first single from his upcoming album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” the finale of a trilogy that began with “After Hours.”

Directed by Anton Tammi, the video was shot on the new iPhone 16 Pro, showcasing the cutting-edge technology in detailed shots of Abel Tesfaye driving through smoke and embers in a classic convertible. The scene continues until the singer crashes and is thrown into a torrential downpour. The camera carefully captures the falling rain and shattered glass around the artist as he sings dramatic lines like, “I can’t wait to see your face shatter when we switch lanes/ My love is beyond the pain/ But if I lose the brake, we’ll be dancing in flames.”

Production by big names

The single was produced by Max Martin and Oscar Holter, the same guys responsible for previous hits like “Blinding Lights” and “Take My Breath,” following the 19th-century synthpop trend that became The Weeknd’s trademark. It sounds retro, but also totally current.
