Do you miss The Walking Dead? The horror franchise is coming back soon!

Less than two years after the end of the main series, The Walking Dead franchise has spawned three spin-offs. In addition to Dead City (soon to return for a second season), the horror comic book adaptation saw its iconic character Rick Grimes return alongside Michonne in The Ones Who Live, which aired last spring.

The third spin-off features the most popular character from the original series: Daryl Dixon. In the first season of the show, the latter – again played by Norman Reedus – moved to France and faced new dangers in a country where he does not speak the language.

Heading to Spain in Season 3?

Season 2 marks the big return of Carol Pelletier (Melissa McBride), Daryl’s eternal sidekick. The latter was supposed to appear in the first season, but the filming moved to France, the American actor was separated from his family for a long time. A deal was eventually found to secure his presence in Season 2.

The plot of this new season is not yet known, but changes have already been announced for season 3, as it has been confirmed that Daryl’s new adventures will take place in Spain.

So a return to the United States is not imminent, and we will definitely have to wait until we hope to witness a reunion between the latter and Carol.

The future of The Walking Dead is still unknown. “Dead City” has been ordered for a season 2, while The Ones Who Live — intended as a one-season miniseries — has not been renewed.

Franchise producer Scott M. Gimple recently floated the possibility of a new series combining the characters of the three spin-offs, or a possible surprise 12th season of the original series.

Season 2 of Daryl Dixon can be seen on September 30th exclusively on Paramount+, also available with a Canal+ subscription.
