Famous British actress Maggie Smith has died at the age of 89. The death was confirmed by his sons, Toby Stephens and Chris Larkin, according to the Deadline portal. A statement released to the British press reads: “She died peacefully in hospital on the morning of Friday 27 September.”
“An extremely private person, he was with friends and family in his final moments,” the statement read. “He leaves behind two loving children and five grandchildren devastated by the loss of their extraordinary mother and grandmother.”
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful staff at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their tireless care and kindness during his final days. We thank you for all the messages of support and ask that you respect our privacy at this time,” they added.
