Is mother earth with holly berry a good movie? What do viewers think of this fantastic thriller by Alexander Aya?

The horror film Mother Earth starring Holly Berry hit our theaters on Wednesday. Restricted to children under 12, French filmmaker Alexandre Aya’s new film tells the story of June, a mother who protects her sons Samuel and Nolan from the end of the world by taking them to an isolated house.

They hunt and look for something to save in the neighboring forest, which is permanently connected to their house by a rope, which their mother asks them to “never let go”. Because if June is to be believed, the old cabin is the only place where the family is safe from the “evil” reigning on earth.

But one day, the rope breaks and they have no choice but to engage in a terrible fight for their own survival…

What do early viewers think of the horror specialist’s tenth feature?

At the time of writing, with 39 ratings and 9 reviews, Mother Land has an average viewer rating of 2.7 out of 5 stars. 60% of viewers who left a comment found the film to be visually successful but lacking in excitement.

Some also find the plot disappointing, even if it hides an interesting subtext. And finally, the acting of the actors, Holly Berry anchor and young Percy Daggs IV Anthony b. Jenkins, appreciated.

Thus, for Leo Dutel, Mother Earth is “A masterpiece. I loved the whole, suspenseful, plot (that wasn’t an over-the-top horror movie) but also the setting, which was simply sublime!!! Great experience.”

Works like crazy!

RedArrow Club from AlloCiné rates the film 3.5 and writes: “Once the final part of the featurette begins, the smart ones we thought were suddenly aware that Aja is actually a lot smarter than they are, showing a kind of story conditioning that she enjoyed setting up. We, so that we can now better model ourselves after his characters, who, with events, find themselves in a ceaseless tornado of doubts.

And it works great! As Mother Earth asserts that “What if…?” In the audience, Aja kicks into high gear and never slows down, expanding the darkness of her world into flights of pure brutality, where the horror becomes far more enduring than before, becoming a vehicle of emotional amplitude we’ve never seen before. The final twists and turns of this tumultuous family fortune follow (all brilliantly supported by Robbie’s breakthrough new musical score).

After all, we’re pretty stoked to be coming back from our forest walk in these motherlands, with Alexander Aya signing off in much better shape than his last weapon. After several other forgettable films, Mother Earth reminds us that it can always surprise us, even if it allows itself to do so in a field where, exactly, there is nothing to point us to. It’s good, we won’t cut the cord with him.”

For Le NanarPhile, it’s “Overall a good story, with some interesting ideas, pretty deep writing, not too much, just limited to a few lengths. The characters are quite interesting and the open plot makes us think about the deeper meaning of the allegory of the rope.

It is well done, with good, clean and quite visual ideas, as well as quite successful scary scenes, even if they are small in number and sometimes quite shy. It won’t be Alexander Aya’s best film, but it’s far from his worst.

“A Beautiful, Badly Done Fairy Tale”

JulietteM, on the other hand, does not consider the ending clear enough and notes: “A film with no real bias. We wait the whole time to find out what it’s really about, but Aja doesn’t make a decision and leaves the audience wanting more.

However, the film offers an interesting reflection on motherhood and the legacy we leave to our children. Holly Berry is sometimes scary, sometimes funny.”

For internet user Coric Bernard, “This horror film uses all the usual ingredients of the genre (doors, an abandoned house in the woods, scary music, etc.). Despite a screenplay that has little coherence and a good production with good delivery of tension and anxiety, terror and horror prevail. This will surely please the fans.

Sunshine1, gives it 2 ratings and writes: “A rather poorly exploited Les Guetteurs-like tale that didn’t give me any thrills. The right production, gorgeous cinematography, Halle Berry and the kids are great actors, but the movie is completely boring… not much happens except a few jump scares to wake us up with the ending. The worst in Aja’s filmography.”

For Hichem Ben Omrane, “From the very first seconds, we realize that the script is a disaster, piling up clichés and inconsistencies at an alarming rate. The story, if it can be called a story, goes nowhere and leaves the audience completely disinterested and disinterested.”
