The most famous veteran of the Vietnam War, but also the most damaged, is back for a third high-risk mission. You see, John Rambo.
In Rambo III, directed by Peter MacDonald in 1988, the veteran reluctantly dons his legendary black hood. While staying close to Buddhist monks in a temple in Thailand, Rimbaud is contacted by Colonel Trautman, who offers him a mission in Afghanistan.
But battle-weary and determined to find inner peace, he refuses his friend’s request. However, a few days later, when he learned that the latter had been captured by the leader of the Soviet invasion army, Colonel Zaisen, he agreed to retire to save him.
- Want another TV tip tonight? We recommend this satirical comedy with Javier Bardem as a nasty boss.
Kidnapped by the Mujahideen people, Rambo discovers their way of life and witnesses the horrors the Soviet army inflicts on them, which takes him back in time.
“What you call hell, he calls home.”
After the massacre of Soviet soldiers, the Afghans prefer to retreat to Pakistan, and Rambo chooses his method: rush. More ruthless than ever, he single-handedly embarks on a dangerous mission to free his mentor.
And as always, John Rambo destroys everything in his path. This leads to explosive action scenes like Sylvester Stallone going crazy over it.
The veteran multiplies attacks, during which he throws Molotov cocktails, drives a tank, attacks a helicopter with a rocket launcher, and drives about a hundred soldiers back to Moscow. Without a doubt, John Rambo is an army of lonesome!
Tonight on C8 at 9.20pm.
