Who says holiday season also says Christmas movies. By the end of 2024, there will be several French films based on the theme, starting with A Family Christmas, co-written and directed by Jeanne Gottesdiener. Didier Bourdon, who has recently multiplied his projects, stars opposite Noemi Lvovsky as the somewhat distraught parents.
The plot of this movie is as follows: “Carol, the mayor of a small town, is deeply involved in her town’s Christmas celebrations, while Allen, her stylish and devoted husband, takes care of organizing New Year’s Eve. But when the children arrive, the peaceful Christmas dream is shattered and the couple experience a full-on attack on all family traditions…“
The recently released trailer offers a comedy about the clash of generations, between the traditional values protected by parents and the current awareness of the youth, who are increasingly sensitive to social issues.
A year of French Christmas comedies
Along with Didier Bourdon and Noémi Lvovsky, we also meet Christophe Montes, Alice Daubelcourt, Jules Sagot and Jeanaina Halloy Foucan.
Other French Christmas comedies are coming soon, such as Boules de Noël, again with Noémi Lvovsky, on November 27th and Les Cadeaux with Chantal Laub and Gérard Darmont on December 25th.
With the huge success of the comedy Cocorico, Didier Bourdon dominated the screens in 2024 with no less than five projects – including a series. This month, he will also appear in 4 Zéros alongside Gerard Lanvin and Isabelle Nantes.
