With 100% of ballots counted, the municipality of Dores do Rio Preto (ES) was the first in Brazil to meet the mayor who will govern the city for the next four years. The city, located in the south of the state, has 6,596 residents, according to the IBGE’s 2022 census.
About half an hour after the official closing of the polling stations, Thiaguinho (PP) was already mathematically elected as the new mayor of the municipality, located about 264 kilometers from the capital Vitória. Counting all the ballot boxes, he obtained 3,430 votes, or 68.16% of the valid votes. The agricultural producer surpassed the only competitor, Jeferson Lagares Oliveira (PSB), who obtained 1,602 votes – 31.84% of the votes counted.
The elections in the city of Espírito Santo had 1.54% of blank votes (for a total of 81) and 2.94% of invalid votes (155). The city recorded a total of 5,268 votes.
