Todd Phillips, director of the novelty, even arranged with the actor from The Leftovers and The Ghosts Still Fun, but the participation did not happen
Joker: Delirium for Twothe long-awaited sequel to the 2019 hit film, almost featured an alternative version of the protagonist, played by Joaquin Phoenix (Napoleon), which would be interpreted by Justin Theroux (The Leftovers, Ghosts Still Have Fun).
In the film, which is already showing in Brazilian cinemas, there is a joke about making a film about the revolution caused by Joker at the end of the first film. Questioned by IGN about who could play the character in a “movie within a movie”, Todd Phillips didn’t hesitate.
“Good, Justin Therouxit is clear”he declared. “Actually, I spoke to the Justin about it. We weren’t going to shoot a trailer at some point. [Mas] we ran out of time.”
It is worth remembering that Justin Theroux made a special appearance in Joker as Ethan Chaseone of the guests at talk show of Murray Franklincharacter from Robert De Niro (Flower Moon Assassins).

In Joker: Delirium for Twowhich is a musical, Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) is admitted to Arkham Sanitarium while awaiting trial for his crimes such as Joker. As he struggles with his dual identity, Arthur ends up encountering true love, in the form of Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga), and finds the music that has always been inside him.
In addition to Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz also returns in the second film as Sophie Drummondthe villain’s romantic interest in the first film. Among the new features, Lady Gaga is the main addition, but it also gains the company of Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Jacob Lofland (A Son), Catherine Keener (Run!), Ken Leung (Lost) and Harry Lawtey (The Pale Blue Eye).
