Learn how to ensure more effective test execution with practical methods that can increase your performance
The National High School Examination (Enem) test requires not only knowledge, but also excellent time management. Knowing how to optimize every minute makes the difference to guarantee good performance and be able to answer all questions within the five hour limit.
To help students efficiently manage their time during the test, Meri Helen Gouveia Santo, coordinator of the Pedagogy course at Faculdade Anhanguera, brings together five smart tips and strategies for this moment, as well as techniques for tackling challenging questions. Check it out below!
1. Plan your time
Before starting the trialplan how much time you plan to spend on each of the four knowledge areas. This helps you not spend too much time on one section and neglect the others.
2. Start with what you know
When you begin the test, start with the questions you are most confident answering. This helps you gain confidence and save valuable time requests more challenging.
3. Don’t get stuck on difficult questions
Have you found a question that seems impossible to answer? Don’t waste time, move on to the next one and come back to it later if possible. Getting stuck on a difficult question can hurt your overall performance.

4. Efficient reading
Read the questions carefully, but avoid long readings. Learn to identify key information in texts and questions, saving time and improving your understanding.
5. Spend time reviewing
Don’t forget to take a few minutes at the end of the test to review your answers. Simple mistakes can be avoided with a quick review.
Stay calm during the test
In addition to time management strategies, staying calm and focused during the Enem test is essential for good performance. “When you find yourself becoming nervous or anxious, take a few slow, deep breaths to calm your nerves. Deep breathing can help you relax and regain calm. focus“, advises the teacher.
Finally, the coordinator of the Pedagogy course of the Faculdade Anhanguera warns: remember that Enem is a marathon, not a sprint. “Manage your time wisely, remaining calm and confident, and take tests early for the day. With practice and proper planning, you will be better prepared to take the exam and achieve the academic success you desire.”
