Clearly, Netflix seems determined to take over from Club Dorothée. A few days ago, the platform already revealed the first episode of the new animated series Ranma 1/2, based on Rumiko Takahashi’s manga.
The first adaptation of the work was a great success in the early 90s in the famous TF1 children’s show. But Ranma 1/2 won’t be the only Club Dorothée series returning to Netflix.
Starting October 11, the platform will offer a simulcast (one episode per week, with Japan) of the all-new animated series Dragon Ball DAIMA, the official sequel to the iconic Dragon Ball Z.
Several DBZ sequels have already seen the light of day!
This new work is the last work helmed by manga author Akira Toriyama before his death on March 1st. The series serves as a return to basics as Goku and his friends return to childhood after magic intervenes.
The program should also relate to the humorous and unusual tone of the first volumes of the comic.
Let’s also note that the plot of Dragon Ball DAIMA is not related – at least not directly – to the other official sequel of Dragon Ball Super, DBZ. Ironically, DAIMA’s story is reminiscent of another series (Dragon Ball GT), a 90’s bootleg where Goku was already returning to his childhood!
Note that Netflix will not be the exclusive broadcaster of the series, as the anime will also be offered on platforms specializing in simulcasts, ADN and Crunchyroll. Mangas channel also airs episodes of Dragon Ball DAIMA every Tuesday at 22:50 VOSTFR.
You can watch the Dragon Ball DAIMA animated series on October 11th on Netflix.
