For the journalist, in addition to the main category, the novelty, which hits Brazilian cinemas on November 7, should guarantee a place among the nominees for Best Actress for Fernanda Torres (End), Best Adapted Screenplay for Murilo Hauser (The Invisible Life) and Heitor Lorega (Mountain Sailor) — winners of the Best Screenplay award at the Venice Film Festival — and Best International Film.
Already Clayton Davissenior awards editor at variety, reinforces the indication of I’m Still Here in Best International Film and also endorses a nomination for Best Director for Walter Sallesbut excludes the film from the Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actress categories.
What is the story of I’m Still Here?
Based on the book of the same name by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, I’m Still Hereis set in Rio de Janeiro, in the early 1970s, amid the military dictatorship, and tells the story of Eunicemother of five children, who becomes involved in an endless search for the truth after her husband, Rubensbe taken away by undercover police officers and disappear.
