The spin-off of “The Boys” reunites the cast to announce the official title

Amazon has announced the official title of the new spinoff series “The Boys”. It will be called “Gen V” and not “Varsity” as it came to circulate. “V” is the name of the drug used by Vought to bestow superpowers on the population.

The name of the series was revealed in a video with the cast. But the Brazilian Marco Pigossi (“Invisible City”) did not participate in the recording, which brought together only the young members of the V Generation, such as Jaz Sinclair and Chance Perdomo (both from “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), Lizze Broadway (” Here and Now “), Maddie Phillips (” Bounty Hunters “), London Thor (” Shameless “), Derek Luh (” Shining Vale “), Shelley Conn (” Bridgerton “), Patrick Schwarzenegger (Arnold’s son), Sean Patrick Thomas (“The Tragedy of Macbeth”) and newcomer Asa Germann.

The new attraction will take place in a superhero university and will explore “the hormonal and competitive lives of young heroes as they test their physical, sexual and moral limits and compete for the best contracts in the best cities.”

“Gen V” was developed by screenwriter Craig Rosenberg (“The Mystery of the Two Sisters”), who is part of the team behind “The Boys”, but abandoned the project during the production of the pilot, citing creative differences. In their place, Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, creators of “Reaper” and “Emergence”, took over as showrunners and made several changes to the project, including the cast initially considered.

There is no release date for production yet.
